Mission

“Building" a Better Future for Children at Home and Abroad

An organization founded to enrich the lives of children, children with means here in the United States

as well as those less fortunate abroad,

through construction and education related projects.

Organization

X-treme Access operates through three divisions: (i)  X-treme Camp, (ii) X-treme Products, and (iii) X-treme Philanthropy.

                       X-treme Camp
Runs a summer camp,
the proceeds of which help fund projects
sponsored by X-treme Philanthropy

Founded in 2006, X-treme Camp is a summer camp for children ages 5-8. The camp attracts families who value a teen run and creative environment for kids and one which directs a portion of its proceeds towards philanthropy.  Campers explore a weekly theme through activities involving building, sports, music, cooking and computers.

"I wish the camp could be a year-long!"

X-treme Products                                      Produces and sells art,
the proceeds of which help fund projects
sponsored by X-treme Philanthropy

X-treme Products recently produced two series of greeting cards (Soaring over Latin America), highlighting photos taken by Josh Dubin while participating in various community service construction projects in South America, including photos of Costa Rica, Peru and more.

Over two-thirds of the cards sold within 48
hours!  Clearly, families like supporting creative and productive teen efforts to enhance our world.

Uses funds from X-treme Camp and X-treme Products to participate in and fund

construction projects that will enhance access to education for children in Latin America

Did you know that in Peru ....

little children walk two hours each way to go to school?

that children over the age of 10 have no school?

that most kids spend the day working with their family?

that some villages only just received electricity in 2009?

IMPACT

  • 2008 La Paz, Costa Rica: Dubin lived in the village of La Paz and was involved with various construction projects designed to enhance a local school, including the tiling of a bathroom and the cementing of a hallway.

  • 2009 Socma, Peru: Dubin lived in the Peruvian Andes and worked on a construction project to provide an economic infra-structure for families so they afford to let their children attend school rather than work.

  • 2010 Ollantaytambo, PeruAs a result of Dubin's experience in 2009, X-treme Philanthropy will earmark the funds it raises to help sponsor the building of a dormitory/school in this town so that some of the children of nearby Socma will have access to an education. Dubin will return on his own to Socma to work on the final stages of the construction project and to deliver the funds raised by X-treme Philanthropy.  Final plans for July 2010 are still being coordinated, based on factors included the impact of recent flooding of the area and other logistics.
